Peggy & Joe Watson are a couple I know who have been married for 52 years. They live in my community here on Kauai. They are extraordinary in their marriage: juicy and wise and playful and generous. I can remember being at dinner at their home on more than one occasion and while we were sitting at table, if a favorite dance song played, they would make that precious intimate eye contact and rise from their chairs, Joe holding out his hand to guide Peggy to the dance floor and in moments of magic that hung suspended out of time, folding into one another's arms and eyes and transport us all into the magic aura of a truly happy and mature marriage. At the end of the evening, they would shoo us away from the dishes, saying they would do them together before any of us got home.
