The Book of Us is a 50- to 75-page book, comprised of the following elements: an analysis of the birth charts of the wedding partners, a comparison of the connections between them, and an account of the unique relationship that is created by their joining.

All we can hope to do from the perspective of astrology is to shed some light on what is undoubtedly one of the most meaningful adventures Life has to offer, that of sharing Life’s Path, two beings living As One….

One thing to take note of is that The Book of Us contains WAY more information than anyone or any couple can absorb at once, even in several readings. Remember that this is information that will serve you best if consulted over a lifetime. There is much wisdom to be gained (and hence harmony to be lived) by giving careful, honest consideration to the construct of one’s character and to take the initiative in shaping oneself to one’s “Best Self” and making a gift of one’s “Best Self” to one’s mate and the world.

If I were going to make a recommendation about how you might encounter and make use of The Book of Us, I would recommend that you each read through it and take some time to reflect and discuss your experience: things that resonate and things that do not. Your composite chart is the most mysterious. Your relationship is a transcendent, almost alchemical, product of your individualities, in the same way that water is a product of hydrogen and oxygen, but carries none of the apparent characteristics of either. Remember that this section indicates the potentials of your relationship. Some of these potentials may be actualized already and some may take years to fulfill. (The good news in this is that some potentials that are what we might consider “negative” can be transcended by learning to emphasize strengths, thereby soothing areas of potential friction or discord.)

CARING FOR THE BOOK:

The Book of Us is made with the finest presentation and archival materials available today.

The beautiful leather album is handcrafted by artisans in Maine to last generations. The album is worked and finished in the tradition of fine bookbinding, from the padded leather cover to the gold accents and the acid-free vellum end papers.

The paper used is made by the Crane Paper Company in Dalton, Massachusetts. Founded in the 18th Century, Crane has made fine papers for banks and financial institutions, including the U. S. Treasury; and the company is noted for its fine line of social papers. The Book of Us makes use of Crane’s Choice 25% cotton watermarked paper and endpapers.

The inks used are HP archival photo inks, dye-based and warranted to last generations when properly cared for.

The brass plaque should require no care more than a little polishing every few years.

To care for your The Book of Us, simply wipe the cover with a damp cloth. Avoid temperature and humidity extremes and bright light, as these can adversely affect the leather, the binding, the inks and the paper. With care, your The Book of Us will last a lifetime.

I have been a practicing astrologer for 40 years. (Yikes!) My first experience with astrology occurred when I was 19. A friend’s mother offered to “read my chart.” I accepted, mostly from the place of curious skepticism. I left that meeting in a state of dumbfounded amazement. This woman did NOT know me that well. I immediately started reading and educating myself about astrology, and have never looked back….

Astrology has provided me with many, many gifts: insights into the strengths and weaknesses of my own character, insights with which to support myself and others through life’s passages, and a very useful tool for navigating the ever-changing dynamics of life.

In the past ten years, I have reoriented my practice so that I am now what I call a “soul-based astrologer,” meaning that I am devoted to illuminating the interface between the transcendent and embodied aspects of my clients.
